Scouts Take Part in Environmental Conservation
A weekend of environmental conservation staying in the bunkhouse at National Trust’s Cragside property had Scouts working hard once again. First thing Saturday morning was spent helping the wardens grit the roads after temperatures of minus four overnight last night before. Once the roads were safer for drivers and walkers, they headed into the estate to carry out tree and bush cutting and burning duties.
“My favourite part of Cragside was when we cleared a part of the forest and burned it on a campfire, because fire is fun. My least favourite part was when we walked back because our group decided to take the long way back and it took ages, it was freezing and we got back late!” Oscar (12)
