Our Group Scout Leader, Karen, manages the waiting list and movements within the Scout Group for our young people. 1st Shiremoor Scout Group is a popular and successful group, and it is normal for our sections within the group to run at full capacity. As a result, entry numbers to all sections must be managed.

Please note when applying that we currently have a waiting list for Beaver and Cubs and following the news we are launching Squirrels the section has already received a lot of interest.

When places become available in any of our Sections, they will be offered based on the following order of priority taking into account length of time on waiting list at each priority level:

1. Children of leaders and executive committee members with key roles. Our priority is to provide enthusiastic adult leadership in each section enabling us to run a balanced and exciting programme for our young people. We are always recruiting new leaders and therefore offer priority to children of leaders and committee members.
2. Siblings of Beavers, Cubs or Scouts currently enrolled
3. Members of another Scout Group (Outside of the District) moving into the Area
4. Anyone else on the waiting list.

You can add your child to the waiting list by completing the form at the link below.

Adult Members

We are always on the look out for new volunteers across the group to strengthen the existing teams we have. Young people are amazing and it the volunteers role to help them realise this.  Young people are the future. They’re the doers, the dreamers and give-it-a-goers. As a volunteer you can put your skills to use and learn new ones, while giving something back to your local community.  Volunteering is easier than you think. With full support and training, you can volunteer on a flexible basis.
